I’m delighted to present here the result of a slightly crazy project! In August 2025, I traveled to Madagascar and covered nearly 3,000 kilometers on a moped! Alone with my bike and my camera, I went from town to town across the entire north of the country, creating this street photography project along the way. A magnetic land, a magical land — this experience will stay with me forever!
The word “Malgache” is French; in the local language, people say “Malagasy,” sometimes shortened to “Gasy.” Street photography is a discipline that requires blending into the surroundings, becoming invisible in order to capture authentic moments.
In many places, I was practically the only white person walking around the neighborhood! Try blending into the scenery under those conditions! I therefore had to keep more distance from the people I wanted to photograph, and my approach became more discreet and restrained than usual.
To learn more about this extraordinary journey, head over to the “blog” section. In the meantime, dive into my little Malagasy stories — my Gasy Stories!
